This is a special post. I got tagged by Brian for one of those “get-to-know-you-better” posts, and since this doesn’t happen often, her goes:

“INSTRUCTIONS: Remove the blog in the top spot from the following list and bump everyone up one place. Then add your blog to the bottom slot, like so.”

1. Life is Just Around The Corner

2. Tom LeDree

3. Tam’s Fitness Journal

4. Lose Weight With Me

5. Color Me Fit

“Next select five people to tag: (if you haven’t done it already)”

Now for the hard part — the questions

What were you doing ten years ago?

Finishing the last line toward the baccalauréat exam, and being generally eager to start my life in Strasbourg as a student and officially adult person. I couldn’t wait to be out of my parents’ house (I love them to bits, but us living together just doesn’t work for more than a couple of weeks), and I had two years of cramming classes to the Ecoles des Chartes (history and national archives) to look forward to. Even if I never finished going that road.

What were you doing 1 year ago?

Bouncing everywhere, doing homework in advance and saving up as much money as I could to prepare for what I think was the biggest decision I’ve made in my life: going back to college at the age of 27 to study English language and take, in a few years from now, the national competitive exam to become a teacher.

Five Snacks You Enjoy

1. Strawberries

2. Fresh or frozen raspberries

3. Bretzels! The only true, unique, tasty Alsacian bretzels!

4. Dark chocolate. Very very dark chocolate.

5. Hot apples cooked with cinnamon (no sugar added).

Five Songs to Which You Know all the Lyrics

1. Most of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and especially Dido’s Death and the Sailors Song. We worked through it for months when I was in a choir, and it’s always stuck with me since then.

2. The Highwayman — Loreena McKennitt

3. Invincible — Pat Benatar

4. The Immigrant Song — Led Zeppelin

5. Wuthering Heights — Kate Bush

Five Things You Would Do If You Were a Millionaire

1. Buy a nice apartment or house in the town I love so that I can stuff me, myself and my books in there. And a dog. With the added cleaning service, because I hate doing the housework.

2. Put some money aside, and invest some more to earn even more money. :P

3. Buy my parents’ apartment from their landlord, then give it to them, so that they never have to move again.

4. Make donations to the causes I believe in. Animal shelters, clinic support…

5. All the clothes I’ve ever wanted to buy and wear! Even the most extravagant stuff.

Five Bad Habits

1. Caffeine addict here.

2. Talking too much about the things that catch my interest at the moment. I must get boring reaaal quickly. And have an obsessive nature shomehow.

3. Spending too much time on the computer.

4. Not paying attention to when it’s time to really get some rest (instead of always working, studying, working, studying…)

5. Being generally unable to keep a room tidy for more than three days. Piles of books and papers always seem to appear magically out of nowhere after that point.

Five things you like doing

1. Studying (no kidding, I love what we learn in college).

2. Writing.

3. Reading.

4. Lifting weights (hey, I’m not only doing it because I have to, isn’t that nice ;)).

5. Skin-diving.

Five things you’ll never wear again

1. Caps. I look so dumb in those. Bring the nice hat, please.

2. Skirts that reach right under the knee. They make me look old, and don’t suit the size of my caves at all.

3. Those awful extra-large T-shirts and pants geared at sports. If I’ve ever looked really frumpy in anything, it must have been in those.

4. ‘Granny’ underwear. /barfs

5. Anything with large dots or sequins.

Five favorite “toys”

1. My MP3 player

2. DDR dance mat

3. Laptop (if it counts as a toy)

4. My wok. Yes, I have tons of fun trying new stuff with my wok. Don’t ask.

5. I am not answering this one… ;)

I loved all your answers but gotta say #5 toys was my favorite!

So sorry to be a total butt-head, but I’ve got a long tedious explanation in the comment section back on my blog about why I’m not doing the meme thing anymore. I hate to not do one of yours especially! But I’ve turned several down recently on the basis of “no more memes,” and have kind of reached the point of no return.

But thanks so much for thinking of me!

  2. GravatarKery Says:

You’re not being a butt-head, memes don’t mean that you HAVE to answer. Personnally, I don’t always follow a meme, only if I like it at least remotely. So I’ll be the last one to blame you if you don’t do a follow-up on that stuff. :)

  3. GravatarRobin Says:

    Ok, I’ll do it.

I love anything that is raspberry!
