What, you thought you’d be rid of me so easily? I thought so as well. But it seems I still have a few things to gab about, after all.
I decided to focus on health/fitness goals only. I’m still sticking to my “no counting calories” policy (and hoping that soon will come the day when I [...]

(I wanted to write a post about this before, but my host seemingly deleted some files for this blog out of the blue, and when I finally had the opportunity to fix them, it was a little too late too blog. So here it comes now.)
I should probably have griped about this during the [...]

I’ll probably come down as snotty or old-fashioned about that, but it needs to be said: I don’t like nor do I trust these things.
You know what they are, I’m sure. Tons of ads pop in our faces on the web, in magazines and on TV about the “new revolutionary machine that will give you [...]

I’m going to classify this under the ‘Exercize’ category, but frankly, I’m more thrilled by its ‘transportation’ aspect. I just don’t have a transportation category on this blog, and frankly, I don’t see why I should.
This morning, at 8 (rise and shine!), I went to pick a second-hand bike. I tried it, it was pleasant [...]

One of those “Duh!” moments for me. But it was a good moment. Very much appreciated.
I went to the campus gym this morning for my weight-lifting class, and as usual, I went straight to the rowing-machine for a bit of warming-up before starting to work on the real fun. Interestingly enough, that rowing-machine is never [...]

I haven’t been a very good girl when it comes to eating these past days, although it’s been way better than in some of the preceeding weeks; I however did good at exercising, and yesterday I even went running again, for the first time in almost three months. I’ve come to realize that I don’t [...]

I’m deep into another cycle currently, the one of writing, and it’s been like a drug so far, albeit a good drug: getting published (more specifically, getting the novel I’m working on published) is one of my oldest and biggest goals in life, and when I’m giving myself the tools and chances to progress in that, as per opposition to spend whole evenings gaming or watching TV, i’m actually happy. Problem is… yes, as usual: exercising.

Back in high school, even though I was pretty much overweight, I wasn’t that bad at running. I wasn’t fast, I wasn’t the best one, but I remember that, thanks to our marks being based on regularity as well as distance, I used to get well-graded, for I did manage to run all the way long while remaining very regular in every lap. Thus, recently, I thought to myself: now that the weather is really nice again, shouldn’t I try to run again?

“I don’t want to build too much muscle, because I’ll look too bulky!” Very recently, I had this discussion at the gym, and realized that such ideas are still around and strong. While I haven’t had this kind of arguments with the men who go there, some of the women are so… let’s say entrenched within these wrong beliefs, that it’s almost a crime to leave things as they are and not try to explain what all of this really is.

Here’s something I hadn’t done in a long time, yet became a necessity again with the coming back of sunnier and warmer days: gardening. And now that we’re about to buy the house we live in, taking care of the big garden behind it is a task we can’t overlook. So, this afternoon, instead of hitting the gym, we went outside, under the warm spring sun, and began to take care of the old branches on our trees.
