And I’ll sigh “at last”. Only New Year is left, and it won’t be as bad as the Christmas series of family-dinners.
It’s weird, but this year, I don’t enjoyed the whole food part. Oh, it was good and well-cooked, no doubt with that, but… It just didn’t appeal to me. Not even the chocolate desserts […]

Seriously, I need to get back into the swing of writing here, since there are so many things that deserve to be blogged about. Now that NaNoWriMo is over and I’m almost done with my novel, as well as having gotten my vector art blog project kicking in, I have no excuses anymore.
This time of […]

This is one of the things I’ve seen advised on many weight loss sites and forums: logging one’s daily food intake. And it’s something I’ve been doing, more or less regularly depending on the moments, but I have to admit that I really don’t like it… not because I want to keep a blindfold on […]

Back in August, one of my birthday gifts was a small book which title would basically be translated by “The body of one’s dreams for lazy girls”. It’s meant to be funny, not derogatory, and it’s actually full of good advice about how to do what’s needed to lose weight (eating, exercising, all the stuff) […]

Today, after lunch, I was perusing the Thiriet catalogue, since I needed to write down and fax my order in the afternoon. Thiriet is a French store that sells and also delivers directly at home frozen goods, from fish and meat to prepare meals such as Cantonese rice, all of this including of course ice-creams, […]

All I can say is: “Ack.”
I’m not proud of myself, today. Not proud at all. From the start, my eating had gone out of control. There wasn’t much food left at home, I had completely forgotten to buy more of what I need for healthy breakfasts, and I ended up eating some of my boyfriend’s […]

So I did it. Yesterday, for lunch, I ate in some fast-food joint, near my workplace. It wasn’t intended. I wasn’t supposed to still be stuck 100 km from my home in the afternoon. I was supposed to take the train back, and be able to cook something nice and healthy at home. But due to circumstances, I couldn’t, I hadn’t any “emergency food” with me, and I didn’t have the time to take the bus back and forth to the closest mall in order to try and pick something better… so I ate at that place.

So, eating too much definitely isn’t any good for someone who isn’t a professional athlete in training, just like eating the wrong things will make us gain on weight too. Then there’s the “not eating” enough part, against which we’re regularly warned by many books and articles… and now I think I’ve just fell into that this week.

Has it ever occurred to anyone that some things that can be seen as annoying by other people, or at least label us as a little weird, can actually be assets regarding the need to lose weight? The realization that popped into my mind was about food, but I believe it could actually be about […]

At times, it’s hard to avoid social gatherings, both for the social conventions and simply because, well, I like being with these people, after all. It made me realize a little thing, though: all of us, regardless of age, sex and weight, made me feel like we were pigging out rather than eating….
