I am back! Well, sort of: the wireless connection in the building is wonky on my floor, so I have to connect to the relay two floors below, and this makes up for a very unstable signal. But fear not, I can after all prepare my posts offline (like this one), and connect for just the few seconds needed to post it.

For anyone who would be interested, here are a few pictures of my new apartment (at the time, it was still devoid of furniture). After having lived in a student room with a (very dirty) bathroom for about twelve people, this is really a nice change.

Besides, now that I have my bike, I can easily go to virtually any of the places that are useful to me in town, and I am less apt to take the bus or tramway “because I don’t have enough time ahead of me to walk” (which IS true, during the school year at least; in summer, I really have no excuse). The downside is that my buttocks hurt; however, I know this will go away as well once my poor bottom gets accustomed to a saddle again. And it sure hurts right now, after I’ve biked downtown to have my phone line activated, then to buy much needed fresh groceries.

I must confess I haven’t done much more else today, nor (shame on me!) paid much attention to eating well. Part of this was the lack of the aforementioned groceries at noon, and the other part is that I’m hovering between catching a cold and not catching it. If you add this to the move (walking two long blocks and a full bridge, back and forth, several times, with furniture or cardboard boxes full of books between the arms or n my back, THEN doing the same again, after my friends and parents had departed, to bring back the English dictionary, trashcan, and other bags of useful stuff left behind in the old room under a violent rain), it’s no wonder I’m feeling fricking TIRED! I was so glad to have a bathroom with a tub, I tell you.

Well, tomorrow is another day, anyway, and what’s left for me to do in my former room is only some cleaning and bringing back the couple of furniture left so that the worked who come next week can replace the floor damaged by a flood last winter. It won’t take nearly as much time as the move itself, and now I have fresh foods in my fridge again. No excuses. :)

On those words, I’m going offline again. Pride and Prejudice and a mug of hot tea are waiting for me.

Nice apartment! And it looks like a great view.

In my mind, one gets major “credit” for moving since there are so many chores involved. So slacking in other areas temporarily is sort of to be expected.

Hope it was okay to follow the flikr link? It was fun to see you & your adorable kitten!

No problem. :) I just don’t have many pictures there, but between losing all my photos in a HDD crash and not having had a camera for a long time, I think have quite some catching up to do.

Moving is a major workout. but it looks like it was worth it. Your apartment looks cozy…well, maybe that was the part about the hot tea and Pride and Prejudice…
I’m not sure you had a tub in your last place, but I remember the DAY I moved into an apartment with a bathtub. luxury! :)

(did I miss the flickr link?)

I really didn’t have a tub in my previous place: it was a bathroom for the whole floor (about 12 people), and a dirty one at that, with two toilets and only one shower. I lived with pigs. I’m happy it’s over!

As for the Flickr link, the pictures themselves are hosted on Flickr, so if you click them, you can then access the rest of my (small) photostream from there. I guess that’s what Crabby did.
