For some time, I had been pondering starting to write in a blog like this one. I simply wasn’t sure whether it would be worth it or not. Finally, after much thinking, I decided that it was. It would be a place where I could express my thoughts and experiences on my journey to being fit, healthy and not forever “the fat, flabby little womanâ€.
It would be a place where I could put my feelings into words, and give them a shape that would allow me to understand them better. It would be a place, too, where others could perhaps benefit from these insights, and if what I write could be of some help, any help, this place would have reached an even higher goal.
For now, this is a place where I am going to record whatever weight loss and fitness matters are going through my head, whatever useful information I find, whatever inspirations I encounter on my way. My journey has started not long ago, and I have still a good deal of a road to walk on ahead of me, step by step, but this is a road on which I never want to turn back. In this journey, writing, blogging, noting down carefully what I do and think, will be tools and means to keep myself from letting my attention and vigilance falter.
You can lie to yourself when you’re the only one concerned, when you can close your eyes on your behaviors. You can’t lie for long when you write it down, when the words dance in front of your eyes, when in the end, all these things you’re writing are actually making you realize what you’re doing and why you’re doing it.
So it begins. I have hopes that this journey will prove a useful and definitive one. I also have hopes that it will be interesting for whoever happens to read these lines.
