Here’s indeed the name that suits her the best, because it’s really that - a capricious, entitled, selfish brat who’s only interested in getting what she wants and doesn’t think about the consequences. The consequences of her acts unfortunately being me gaining on weight, slowly, insidiously. In a way, I’m pretty sure that we all have our inner brat; she’s just more or less active depending on the people.

“I don’t want to build too much muscle, because I’ll look too bulky!” Very recently, I had this discussion at the gym, and realized that such ideas are still around and strong. While I haven’t had this kind of arguments with the men who go there, some of the women are so… let’s say entrenched within these wrong beliefs, that it’s almost a crime to leave things as they are and not try to explain what all of this really is.

There have been a few moments when I wondered if, in a way, starting this blog was a valid idea: not because I don’t have anything to say or am too shy to say it, but because I know I am certainly not the one with the worst hardships behind me when it comes to weightloss. Thus, does this allow me to state my opinions all the same? Or should I just, as some say, “suck it up” and not open my virtual mouth, for “not being able to understand”?

Here’s something I hadn’t done in a long time, yet became a necessity again with the coming back of sunnier and warmer days: gardening. And now that we’re about to buy the house we live in, taking care of the big garden behind it is a task we can’t overlook. So, this afternoon, instead of hitting the gym, we went outside, under the warm spring sun, and began to take care of the old branches on our trees.
